Cecilia has worked for five years as environmental engineer and as inspector of the Ministry of Environment and Water in Bolivia. In 2011, the Japanese government granted her the scholarship MEXT. She holds a MSc. and PhD degree in wastewater technologies focused on the use of biosorbents from the Ecological Engineering Laboratory at Tohoku University in Japan. She belongs to the PEM-education program (Professional Ecosystem Managers) in Tohoku University and as part of this program she joined the UNU-INWEH to gain knowledge in water policy and resolution of environmental issues in international organizations. Currently, she is working on encapsulate nature based solution for water management and water security agenda with specific example of realistic and implementable solutions. She is also participating to review current data, information and knowledge of water pricing and their integration into policies that influence water security.
