Faculty from United Nations University will discuss water-related disasters and sustainable development.
Dr. Vladimir Smakhtin will illustrate the magnitude of the problem under current and changing climates, ways of dealing with it and how this issue is being addressed through Sustainable Development Goals 2030.
Dr. Nidhi Nagabhatla will discuss how ecosystems’ degradation increases the adverse impacts of water-related disasters, with examples from coastal areas and in transboundary context.
Both talks will have a global outlook with regional examples.
Lectures will be followed by a Q&A session, plus a wine & cheese reception for attendees.
