George comes from Ghana and has been living in Waterloo, Canada for the last four years. He did his BA and MA degrees in Geography and Resource Management at the University of Ghana. He also did his doctoral degree in Geography from the University of Waterloo where he explored emerging non-communicable diseases in LMICs with a focus on food allergy in Ghana. He has extensive research experience having worked as a senior research assistant at the Centre for Migration Studies, University of Ghana on a number of projects examining the migration-poverty nexus.

George is undertaking a three-month internship under the supervision of Drs. Lisa Guppy and Susan Elliott to assess among others; how UNU activities and programs could best feed into the “managing water-related health risk” project, explore research partnership for emerging projects and contributing to collaborative knowledge pieces and initiatives with partner institutions. In addition, he will be contributing to ongoing initiatives on Neglected Tropical Diseases to improve understanding around the social and environmental factors that increase vulnerability.
