Leia Jones is Canadian but grew up in Singapore. For the past four years she has been completing her undergraduate degree in Environment and Development with a minor in Political Science from McGill University. There she had the chance to conduct various research projects on environmental issues threatening Montreal, including food and water security. In the past she has worked with environmental NGOs in Singapore, as well as in the private sector at a start-up. She hopes to pursue a Master’s degree in Environmental Policy.
Leia will be doing a 2-month long research project under the supervision of Dr. Duminda Perera, looking at modern threats to water resources with a focus on cities and population growth. She will also be working under the supervision of both Dr. Duminda Perera and Dr. Nidhi Nagabhatla on a joint project on water driver migration.
