Younggy Kim is an associate professor in Civil Engineering at McMaster University. He holds a B.E., and MS from Korea University, and a PhD from Texas University at Austin. Younggy is also a Canada Research Chair in Water and Health (Tier II). His research focus is on wastewater treatment with an emphasis on nutrient recovery, anaerobic digestion, heavy metal separation and water reuse. He is also working on point-of-use water treatment to supply safe drinking water in remote and isolated communities. His research interests also include desalination, salinity-gradient energy recovery, and numerical modeling of engineered and natural water systems. Dr Kim is the author of over 50 peer-reviewed publications. At UNU-INWEH, Dr Kim contributes to research on wastewater management that is part of the project on Unconventional Water Resources.
