UNU-INWEH invites all its members and networks to join us in celebration of International Day of Women and Girls in Science, 11 February, with the theme of: Investment in Women and Girls in Science for Inclusive Green Growth.

UNU-INWEH is partnering with McMaster University experts and colleagues to acknowledge and hear stories and perspectives from women and girls, including a strong representation of indigenous women and girls. Dr Nidhi Nagabhatla from UNU-INWEH will talk on the UN- Declaration of Human Rights for Water and Sanitation (UN/ Res/ AR 64/292) and how that reflects on gender sensitive need and gaps for inclusive, green and sustainable futures, while ‘leaving no one behind’. She will also moderate a panel discussion inviting perspectives of McMaster colleagues on aspects viz.- opportunities and challenges for women and girls in STEM-related fields in higher education, gender bias to gender equality, women and girls representation and contribution to economic growth and development planning-how close, how far!
