Ayodetimi OMONIYI

Ayodetimi Omoniyi is a Doctoral Student in Water Resources Management at the Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta (FUNAAB), Nigeria. He holds a Master’s degree in Water Resources and Environmental Engineering from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria with a CGPA of 6.7/7.0, and a Bachelor’s in Water Resources Management and Hydrology at FUNAAB. His research experiences range from assessing the impact of river water and sediment quality on water users to investigating the spatial and temporal variation of heavy metals interaction in a River, its impact on the quality of drinking water, and the social-economic living of water users. The study also examined the existing control measures. Within his Doctoral program, he is investigating the hydro-morphological characteristics of the Ogun River Basin through an integrated assessment of the surface water resources of the Basin. So, has a broad knowledge of water quality, water treatment and supply, wastewater disposal, sanitary chemistry and microbiology, mass wasting, hydrologic loading, and climate change. Before joining the UNU-INWEH, Ayodetimi Omoniyi had six (6) years of post-graduation experience in STEM tutoring and publications in reputable international journals. He has excellent knowledge and use of data visualization tools like Microsoft PowerBI, statistical analysis tools like SPSS and SAS, and applied remote sensing and spatial data analysis tools to map Basin-wide water quality trends. His understanding of Water-Gender interlinkages stems from several water-related short courses such as Water and Migration and Gender and Environment and participation in gender empowerment and engagement Initiatives like the WASH-drivers NG.
