Supriya Tiwari

Supriya Tiwari is a Geospatial Technologist. She holds a Master of Technology (M.Tech) in remote sensing and GIS with a specialization in water resources from the Indian Institute of Remote Sensing/ISRO, India. She has 2+ years of working experience in various national government organizations. She has also secured All India Rank 33 in the Graduate Aptitude Test of Engineering conducted by top engineering colleges in India. In her M.Tech project, she has worked on integrating satellite-derived products using data assimilation techniques in the land surface model to improve the model performance. She has developed a framework for daily soil moisture and snow cover data assimilation in the Variable Infiltration Capacity (VIC) model. The project aims to understand the changing hydrological behavior of the transboundary Ganga river basin focusing on hydrological extremes. Her work also includes an assessment of historical and future trends in surface water hydrology with the changing climatic scenarios. Her research interest includes forecasting and monitoring hydrological extremes (floods and droughts), water quality analysis, and snow and glacier studies. The ultimate aim of her life is to use geospatial state-of-the-art technology to solve real-world problems.
