Malvika is a recent graduate from McMaster University with a bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences. She will be attending medical school at the University of Ottawa this fall to pursue her dream of becoming a healthcare physician. Growing up, Malvika witnessed various water and sanitation inequalities in India, which fuelled her passion to help address pressing water-related problems around the world. Her recent research project revolved around examining water-related sustainable development goal accelerators, with an emphasis on how gender can be integrated to fast-track SDG implementation.
As an intern at UNU-INWEH, Malvika will be working to develop an e-learning module on the topic of WASH in healthcare facilities under the supervision of Dr. Lina Taing. She will also be playing a supportive role to assist with the Antimicrobial Resistance Scoping Review project.
