Professor Sheikh Tawhidul Islam is an expert with a long experience in disaster management, climate change, and environmental development. His approach, utilizing advanced analytical tools, delves deeply into human vulnerability in environmental contexts.
At UNU-INWEH, Prof. Islam leads the institute’s disaster management and climate change analytics initiatives in South Asia. His efforts include fostering collaboration with regional and national agencies, focusing on research and capacity development in disaster management and climate change adaptation.
Alongside his role at UNU-INWEH, Prof. Islam is a Professor and Director of the Institute of Remote Sensing at Jahangirnagar University in Bangladesh.
