Talia is a graduate of the University of Guelph, having completed her Master’s of Science in Epidemiology. Talia’s Master’s research looked at Salmonella prevalence on Canadian dairy farms. She has worked at the Center for Public Health and Ecosystem Research (CENPHER) in Hanoi, Vietnam, through a placement with Veterinarians without Borders. While at CENPHER, she worked as the health impact assessment specialist, creating guidelines and communications materials, and providing support for study design and data analysis. Her interests in Ecohealth and global health motivated her to apply for an internship at UNU-INWEH.
While at UNU-INWEH, Talia will be working under the supervision of Dr. Nidhi Nagabhatla and Dr. Duminda Perera. Her work will examine water security and variability challenges, with a focus on health, WASH, and gender.
